AIM Instructor Training (UK) is a learning provider within the Enhanced Learning Credit Scheme and Career Transition Partnership. Our ELC number is 2840.

Personnel about to leave H. M. Forces can have absolute assurance that they will receive the highest quality of training (see our testimonials) and customer care in preparation for a new career as a driving instructor.

Previous clients of ours from the Forces have been responsible for 20% of their training costs and all examination fees.

Once AIM Instructor Training (UK) receives a 20% deposit, the training course begins with a course induction, issue of all training resources and the first in-car session.

Our trainee instructors work at their own pace. All training is carried out on a one-to-one basis. We are very flexible and fit in with your schedule as much as possible. It is perfectly feasible to qualify as an instructor within 4 - 5 months.

With AIM Instructor Training (UK) you are not tied into a contract with our driving school. Once you have qualified as an instructor with us you are free to operate as an independent ADI or work for whichever driving school you wish. Keeping your options open during the training period allows you extra time to consider how you want to operate in the future.

Course Application Process

Once you have chosen your training provider from ELC's approved list, you should apply for a Criminal Record Bureau check by contacting Capita Recruitment Vetting Service on 0870 850 2455
and ask for an application pack. This service is free.

When your CRB check is through you can apply for ADI Registration directly to Driving Standards Agency on their website (direct.gov.uk). Once registered with DSA you are free to apply for the first qualifying test (part 1 theory).

"From the very first phone call, I felt an air of friendly professionalism from Phil and he stayed that way throughout all 3 parts of the qualification.  The excellent balance of formal training and friendly banter was fantastic and made the 4-hour training sessions seem shorter.  Phil quickly worked out what made me tick and geared his training to suit my style of learning, recognising when I perhaps needed a little more time on a particular PST.

With Phil’s superb attitude to training and relaxed manner, plus the promptly provided training materials for each part, I managed a decent first time pass at Part 3 (Grade 5 and 6); this is undoubtedly due to the preparation work carried out with Phil.  Many thanks to a true gentleman and I look forward to Check Test training".
