Check Test training
Next one-day Check Test seminars on 6 March '12 and 5 June '12. See "events" for details.

For qualified ADIs, the check test looms up with monotonous regularity. Many ADIs (over 20/year) have taken advantage of training with Phil to prepare themselves for their check test, with great success.

Just a few hours spent concentrating on how best to present yourself for the test increases your confidence and ensures you come across to the Examiner in the best possible light.

To achieve a good result, a logical and structured approach is taken. A one-hour assessment of your instructional ability on a normal driving lesson (or 1:1 roleplay with Phil) is followed immediately by feedback on your strengths and weaknesses and a two-page written report. You also receive a free copy of Phil's "Check Test Handbook".

If further training is required, it concentrates on one or more of the following:
  • Role-play session(s) to improve your instructing skills and techniques.
  • Discussions on core competencies (fault assessment), the checktest form and what the Examiner is looking for from you.
  • What sort of pupil to choose and how to structure the check test lesson.
  • Role-play check test.
Regardless of whether you have a check test coming up soon or have recently failed a check test, training will guarantee better preparation, increased confidence and the knowledge of how best to present yourself to the Examiner.
